EDITORAL The USS NllVllTZ is the best in the Fleet today. To become and stay the best took hard work and sacrifice from her crew. Nimitz sailors have always done more than what was ex- pected, not because they had to, but because they wanted to. The professionalism and dedication to the job at hand from each individual on board is surpassed only by their de- sire to do an even better job at the next opportunity. Success is not worth anything unless you have a friend with whom to share it. Nimitz grasped this idea years ago. From the buddy system on liberty, to co-workers looking out tor one another on the roof, Nimitz is a team organization. lt's the Teamwork attitude exhibited by each crewmember that makes Nimitz the trend setting ship she is. It is impossible to set to print all the laughter, sorrow, sweat and toil that this crew has experienced. lt has been my intention in editing this journal to capsulize all these things called Nimitz, the most important of which are the men who sail her.
