The artlof celestial navigation combined with computerized satellite navigation systems supply the information needed for the required navigational fix every thirty minutes. During under- way replenishment evolutions selected Quartermasters take the ship's wheel as Master Helmsmen adeptly steering the ordered course. During sea and anchor details while the rest of the Navigation Department is piloting and tunneling necessary information to the Officer of the Deck, these Master Helmsmen again take the wheel.
