4 1 l H -I5 Helicopter Anti-Submarine Squadron FIFTEEN was commissioned on 29 October 1971 at Naval Air Station, Lahehurst, New jersey. Its assigned mission was to conduct training to in- sure combat readiness of aircraft and flight crews in support of the Sea . Control Ship concept. On 1 july 1974, HS415 was adminis- tratively chopped from HELSEACON Wing One in Norfolk, Virginia to HS Wing One based in Jacksonville, Florida. This change signified the end of the Sea Control Ship Evaluation and the beginning of HS-15 operating as a conventional HS squadron.
