Dr. Mannos encouraged student involvement in Project Wingspread. ■ Dr. Mannos Views 1969-70 As a Progressive Year The atmosphere at Niles West this school year was described by Dr. Mannos as being very ex¬ cellent and healthy. He feels that the administra¬ tion has accomplished a great deal in recognizing student needs. Some of the new programs in ef¬ fect at West are the Advisory Committee and the installation of early and late arrivals schedules. Dr. Mannos also feels the Superintendent Dia¬ logue Sessions recently established are very effec¬ tive in the process of communication. The admin¬ istration hopes to give the students more privi¬ leges and responsibilities that will affect their later lives. Dr. Nicholas Mannos keynoted many exciting innovations this year.

Superintendent Charles Szuberla and Dr. Merton Haynes confer about com¬ ments made by one of the students who attended school board meeting. Mr. Szuberla opens up Monday night school board meeting. Superintendent Charles Szuberla was very pleased with the atmosphere at West this year but he still feels there is a long way to go to create the responsive student. The administration is striving for the school to provide an individual education. This past year the administra¬ tion was instrumental in expanding the work study program and the special edu¬ cation service for the visually and emo¬ tionally handicapped. Next year Mr. Szuberla looks forward to the Wing- spread Program coming to West and also the installation of the new English Cur¬ riculum Program.
