The Varsity Cheer- leaders for 1981-1982 included 10 seniors and 5 juniors. They cheered at football, basketball, and soccer games throughout the year They raised money by selling popcorn, candy bars, and pop. During the summer, they at- tended an NCA Cheerleading Camp held at Illinois State Uni- versity in Normal, Illinois. At camp they re- ceived several ribbons; a super squad award; and the Spirit Stick which was given to squads showing “excessive spirit and pep. ''Cheerleading this year has been reward- ing for all of us, stated Geri Donenberg, Co- Captain of Varsity Cheerleading. Rowdy, rowdy, that's our style! Get up fans and cheer a while! yell the Pre-Varsity Cheerleaders at football and basketball games. The squad went to cheer- leading camp for 5 days at Camp Birch Knoll in Wisconsin over the summer, where they met new people and learned new mounts and cheers. After school. 2 days a week, they practiced their cheers. In order to earn money for camp and awards, they sold candy, pop- corn. and pop. Kim Wagner commented. This season has been a lot of fun. Our squad has much spirit and is really close. Striving to promote school spirit, the Freshmen Cheer- leaders attended Freshmen football and basketball games.
