I , I Niles North High School offers a.variety of activities for students who want to further their education outside the classroom. The clubs are organized at the beginning of the school year and each club has a faculty sponsor. Club sponsors are teachers who give extra time once or twice a month after school. Before a school club is established, it must be ap- proved by the District 219 School Board. Ms. Maria Thompson, Building Manager, super- vised the school-wide activities calendar When asked about the importance of the activities, she said. I would strongly encourage all students to actively participate in at least one school club an- d or activity during their high school years There is much personal satisfaction, growth, and enrich- ment to be gained by having extra-curricular activi- ties share in a student's academic program.
