Standing: Bud McComb. Handsome Tom Arsdale and his lady-killer roommate Oke Stimson, are about to graduate from college. Tom has a terrific reputation for being girl shy, the title of the junior class play which was presented on November 18 and 19. Babs Sanford, thinking that Tom hates girls, de- cides to do something about it. She changes places with the cleaning lady in order to get a chance to work on the girl-shy Tom. A romance between Tom and Babs is just blossoming when Tom ' s dad and a hometown girl enter the scene. Then complications arise ; but in the end every man has his girl, or as the audience would agree, every girl has her man. Mr. Hollenius is giving Vance Johnson, Margie For- tier, and Sharon Adams a few helpful hints. 10

Variety Show Margie Fortier, Sandra Borst, end Winifred Tracey singing Mr. Sandman George Foster os Liberoce Bright lights, Brocdway, millions of people — New York Town, the theme of the 1955 Variety Show. A group of young hopefuls all looking for success on either the stage or screen met at a party held in an exclusive New York apartment. The second scene, a television studio, featured such well-known acts as George Cobel, Mike Ducey; Jackie Cleason, Larry Unger; and Liberace, George Foster. Also in- cluded were the ballad singer Bill Gents; the Blue Room Dancers featuring Mary Bround, Kay Homer, Cleo Gray, Paula Hemphill, and Shirley Bolinger; and Jackie Forbes singing The Mama Doll Song. Last but not least, the skit If Thoughts Could Speck starring Sharon Adams and Dick Mell appeared between the con- cert portion of the show and the fan- tasy. The Variety Show was presented March 1 and 2 and was the main pro- duction of the Vocal Music Depart- ment, which is under the direction of Mr. George Flora.
