In its methods, the Cum Laude Society may be compared with the Phi Beta Kappa Society of higher institutions, and there are chapters functioning in many of the best preparatory schools for boys and girls in the country. The Nichols Chapter was granted a charter in 1918 under Mr. I-Iead's administration.
