Teaching has truly been her lifels Work and in it she has invested all of her talents, a keen intellect, a dauntless determination, love of beauty, loyalty, and eagerness to serve. Her patience, kindness, and understanding have helped many children through their first year of school, and her fine Christian character has been an inspiration to those Whose lives she has touched. Miss Mortonis retirement ends her direct contact with boys and girls, but her devoted life to the service will always be uppermost in the minds and hearts of those, Who were privileged to come under her influence. Therefore, were it possible to search deeply into her thoughts, this little prayer no doubt would be discovered: 'The only croscfn I risk, Dear Lord, to wear, Is Htis-that I may help ff little chilrl.
