After several weeks of school we the Spanish students organiz d S ni h C1 b This, with lies Storm as our able sponsor,soon became one of the most impggtagt clubs in the school. At Christmas time we had a party. The main event of the party was a play, La Mujer Gana'. Several weeks later we put on an assembly in school. Up to this time we have had a very successful year, and we know it will continue to be so. Zafme? The ten members of the F. F. A. under the leadership of Donald Cotton,presldent, and lr. Dean, advisor, have had a satis- factory year. We put on a very successful variety program as a school assembly. Some of the features were: barrel boxing, car- ried on by the Engelbert twinsg hog tying contest, chinese ping pong, and a colorful male beauty contest. There were two plays: 'Russian Draman and NThe Saga of Little Nell,' which brightened up our program. In Harch,the Nichols F.F.A. will be initiated into the Future Farmers by the Waverly F. .A. The High School Band participated in the Tioga County Musical Festival in April. They played the march, 'Vanguard,' and an overture called 'Aurora.' At the Spring Concert the band gave its grand finale for the year. SENIOR QUARTET This group, made up of Betty Bailey, Liz Qu1ck,Nancy R1egel,and Arlene Thetga, supervised by Mrs. Quick, has taken part in several assembly programs, and also helped to make the Exchange Assemblies successful. One of their final perfor- mances was at the Spring Concert. JUNIOR QUARTET A Junior Quartet was formed this year by four freshman girls: Barbara Bennett, Joyce Berry,Ruth Berry,and Patricia Mille. The girls are well known to the students, for their specialty number, 'The Big Brown Bear,' which they do with motions. Between acts of the Senior Play, the girls enter- tained the audience, and they have taken part in student and exchange assemblies, and the Spring Concert. MALE QUARTET A new group, including Herb Barnum, Ed Engelbert, Wayne Horton, and Paul Stone. form the male quartet. They have provided much entertainment for the students.At the Talent Show, Exchange Assemblies, and be' tween acts at the Junior Play, these boYB added many moments of enjoyment.
