S. in the fall of '21 having previously taught in Ravenswood High School. Miss Dorsey is the mother of the Freshman class and has steered them clear through their first year of high school. She is very quiet and demure and always wears a smile. We are all very proud of her for the excellent service she has rendered the school by sending out good cooks and well dressed young ladies. Her motto is, Car- ry yfour burdens with a smile. ANITA FITCH ENcL1sH, FRENCH llflarshall College. Lady Jane Grey School. Ohio State University. lVIiss Fitch's home is in Huntington, W. Va. She came to N. C. H. S. in the fall of '22 to start her life's career as a teacher. She is well versed in the art of wearing clothes and always looks neat and pleasing. She has an open frank expression that seems to draw you to her whenever you see her- She has been successful as a teacher so far and we hope the future holds much in store for her. l10l

She pre- viously taught commercial work in Plummer, Idaho, and Monticello, lNIinn. She came to Nicholas High in the fall of '21- Miss Ballenger was the first teacher to start commercial work in Nicholas High School and by so doing we feel that the school has been greatly benefited. She has filled her position efficiently and has sent several students out in the business world. She is busy every minute of the day and her students usually are busy too. Post Grad- uate work under Hugh Eldridge, VV. V. VV. C., and Hans van den Burg, von Ende School of Riusic, New York City. Bits. Cox has taught in the Hillsboro and Cabin Creek High Schools and in Shepherd College, State Normal School, for five years. She came to N. C- H. S. in '22 as a music teacher and instructor of the Glee Club. ll-Irs. Cox has made a place in the hearts of a large number of the students. She seems to make friends with everyone easily. She has a wonderful talent for music and .those who have hea1'd her sing once never fail to want to hear her again. She is full of pep and is a great help in yelling on the athletic field. Columbia University. lvliss lllyers was a former teacher in lylarlinton High School where she taught three years. She came to Nicholas High in 1920 and has remained here since that time. hiiss lllyers knows the name of every bird, Hower and tree and she has led' many students into the knowledge of bugology, botany and chemistry. She has success- fully guided the Senior Class through their last three years of school and by so doing we feel that Nicholas High School was greatly benefited by having her here. She is very quiet, says little, but thinks a great deal. RUTH SCOTT, A. B., ENGLISH llfliddle Tennessee Normal. George Peabody College. University of Tennessee. Previous to the year l92l Miss Scott was an English teacher in Coopertown High School, Springfield, Tennessee. She came to Nicholas High School' and has for the past two years been a teacher here. Bliss Scott is from the Sunny South and she has a cheery word and a sunny smile for every one. She loves to argue and expresses herself freely when called on to .lo so. Out with Nature she is perfectly happy and when studying Nature poems in English class you can see that she longs for a ramble in the woods. She also was a great help to the school in training the Contestants for the Central VVest Virginia Literary Contest. llll
