Superintendent Mr. Gardner has worked tirelessly for the betterment of the Niantic-Harristown schools. While at Niantic, he has shown continual interest in the students and their activities, striving always for what is most beneficial to them. He has also demonstrated unceasing interest in the affairs of the community which he serves. Mrs. Ruth Rambach served ably as Mr. Gardner’s secretary. She kept the office running smoothly and efficiently throughout the year. Principal Mr. John Hickey, as principal of the high school, has capably performed the duties of his office. His understand- ing guidance has been an inspiration to both the students and faculty. His constant willingness to devote time and energy to any student’s problem is characteristic of the fine job he has done. Miss Anita Skinner served as Mr. Hickey’s secretary. Her competent assistance has relieved Mr. Hickey of many of the routine duties, freeing his time for the more complex tasks.

Board of Education The Board of Education is the policy makingand governing body of the school. Its many duties are time consuming and arduous, but little recognition comes to its members. Beside the usual duties of seeing that an adequate staff is hired, that busses are maintained, and the buildings are in good repair, this year there was the added responsibility of backing a needed referendum. It was finally passed by the taxpayers in April. In the April school election, Mr. Gordon Snoeyenbos was elected to serve on the Niantic- Harristown Board of Education. Left to Right: Carl Brock, Herschel Pritchett, Kenneth Rankin, Carl Dunn, William Davis, Donald Bruce, Clyde Dial.
