Hands reach for knowledge The Niantic-Harristown Chapter of the Nat- ional Honor Society is composed of students who have maintained a 4.5 average as fresh- men, sophomores, and juniors. Membership is based not only on scholarship, but also on leadership, character and service. To become a member of this organization is the highest honor attainable by a student in the school. organize miters of journalism The Allen Fort Chapter of the Quill and Scroll is an international honorary society for high school journalists. Its purpose is to recog- nize schools and students doing outstanding work in journalism and to encourage individual interest and initiative in writing for journalism and allied fields. The publication advisors are Mrs. Ash, Miss Cole, and Mr. Rogers. Requirements for membership are: 1. Candidates must be from the Newspaper or Yearbook Staff. 2. Must be juniors or seniors. 3. In the upper third of their class. 4. Have done superior work ip writing, editing, or business management. 5. Must be recommended by the publica- tion advisors. 6.
