To the Class of 1960: motion of the brotherhood of man. My sincere congratulations to each of you. Principal Administration To the Class of 1960: ' ' Probably the admission of Alaska and Hawaii into the United States has meant to most of us only a headline in the newspaper. Yet the benefits which may come, both to our country and to our two new states, may some day prove to be tremendous. We need the perspective of time to appreciate the slow upward march of progress. So it is with your high school life. At the moment of graduation, a diploma may merely indicate that you have acquired a certain fund of knowledge. I am sure, however, that in years to come, all the varied experiences that make up modern high school education will take on greater meaning and value for you. It is my hope that your Alma Mater has not only developed your individual scholastic abilities, but has strengthened such qualities as good sportsman- ship, consideration for others, tolerance, understanding, self-disci- pline and responsibility. But an expanding United States seemed almost unbelievable - yet in the short time of a few months our borders were extended thousands of miles northward and westward.
