In Appreciation William F .lack It is with great regret that this year marks the end of Mr Jacks career as Principal of the Niagara Falls High School During the fifteen years that Mr Jack served first as vice principal and then as principal he won the esteem and affection of the faculty and of the great numbers of students who have come and gone In Mr Jack they found an open minded and sympathetic counselor whose advice and decisions came from earnest thought and common sense tempered with fairness Mr Jack always dis played the interest in young people which is an essential quality in a successful principal The pupils of Niagara Falls High School well knew that he was ready on all occasions to listen to their problems courteously and to give them the benefit of his experience and wisdom They wish now to show some proof of their appreciation of his labors for them and in this small way to make known their loyalty to him They take this opportunity of expressing their regret that he is leaving the school and of offering him their best washes for his retirement 8 i i i . 0 . . . . 1 ' I . . ,

Pages from the past come alive when writers tell of the stirring days of the Far West The strumming guitar and the artist's brush bring exciting scenes and breathless tales of a land far beyond the setting sun. The Conestoga wagon- the buftalo herds the firetipped arrow and the deeds of brave men are all No other region of our great country has such a history, in no portion of the earth can such a story be repeated But the memory of the Far West re- mains full of romance and adventure For us it is a precious memory. May your memories of Niagara Falls High School be precious to you as you recall the frontiers of your educational life. May the spirit of adventure be with you always as you explore new pathways of learning, may you meet each Timothy A. O'Brien Principal Administration ,349-tu' rf? , fb w 3 .ffqsl ff t I. Na i To the Class of 1958: The spirit of the American pioneer can enrich your life, The same zeal, which caused our rugged frontiersmen to push westward blazing new trails, can also inspire you, in the modern world, to scorn the easy acceptance of es- tablished ways and to seek a new and better life. For this, your high school education is but a beginning. You will need more and more knowledge. For the world today, which reaches now beyond all visible boundaries into outer space, challenges us to work as well as hope for progress in many areas. As young adults entering into the life of your community, you can give your strength to many important causes: better health, more comfortable hous- ing, freedom from want, the establishment of brotherhood and peace, more beauty in daily life. I believe that you will meet this challenge in the spirit of your American forefathers. Congratulations and best wishes to each one of you. Beatrice Ballinger ll' Vice-Principal
