Now ThaT we have reached our coveTed goal, leT us pause Tor a while and Think seriously. Shall we be saTisTied To sink back inTo The obscuriTy Trom which we came, or shall we, looking Tar down The road, Tix our desires on The Things in liTe really worTh while? Never in The hisTory oT The school has a senior class Taced a more perplexing siTuaTion. Some oT us are going on To college in order ThaT we may add To and develop an already well laid ToundaTion. l-lowever, many oT us are going ouT inTo an unsympa- TheTic business world where The demand Tor Trained men and women is insuTTicienT To meeT The ever increasing supply. BuT in This day we can noT sTand sTill, and To go backward would mean uTTer Tailure boTh To ourselves and To our Triends. There is only one Thing Tor us To do: To Tollow The lvlasTer hand and push our way upward and ouTward and always Torward. All Too soon, our high school days have come To a close in a TearTul and wonderful Time. We are abouT To pass on. When we are gone, I wonder if Niagara will miss us as much as we shall miss her. l Tear noT. Incoming sTudenTs will Take our places, and we shall soon be TorgoTTen, buT we shall never TorgeT. Prozeller, ManTle OraTor, Class oT I933. JUNIOR RESPONSE TO MANTLE ORATION T-lREE years ago a group oT young people enTered This high school. AT ThaT Time They were, no doubT, overawed by The vasT possibiliTies ThaT lay ahead oT Them and by The numerous branches oT insTrucTion Trom which They could choose Their courses. Now we Tind ThaT same group oT young people abouT To leave This insTiTuTion, Their Alma lvlaTer. WhaT a change These Three years have wroughT in Them, a change apparenT Trom boTh a physical and menTal poinT oT view, a change ThaT will be oT greaT value boTh as a Tinancial aid and Tor The pleasanT memories oT school days here. When The Class oT '33 began Their lasT year here, They auTo- maTically Took upon Themselves The ideals ThaT our school has always upheld. This graduaTing class has TulTilled These ideals in a Truly remarkable manner. Their accomplishmenTs have been many and oT high qualiTy. We, The Class oT '34, have been greaTly honored and beneTiTed by having Them as Triends and companions. Probably every sophomore and iunior has aT one Time or anoTher Taken some senior as his sTar, waTched his every move, and Then Tried To duplicaTe his achievemenTs. Such sTars have been unusually plenTiTul in This year's senior group. l-lowever, all The beneTiTs gained Trom school are noT necessarily educaTional. The numerous and varied acguainTances one makes in high school will be oT greaT value in conTacTs wiTh diTTerenT groups in laTer liTe. ln This respecT, also, we have gained much Trom This graduaTing class. ln view oT all The achievemenTs oT all predecessors, we, The Class oT '34, which I now represenT in accepTing This manTle oT red and gray, The Token oT seniorhood, musT realize The immensiTy oT The Task beTore us in upholding The TradiTion oT our high school when we ourselves shall be seniors. So ThaT aT The end oT our school liTe here, as we place This manTle upon Those who Tollow, we shall be in a posiTion To say To Them, Uphold The splendid ideals oT your Alma lviaTer and may your school be beTTer because you have been a parT oT iT.
