artistic. This is the reason why I took both Typography and Art in my second year at Niagara College. In the future, I would like to expand in the field of Graphic Arts. Preferably, in that part dealing with Typography. For myself, I know that I couldn ' t be totally fulfilled without a career. So, after I graduate i would like to work with a firm which will provide me with I have always had a strong interest in art. Now, my interest has developed into the form of oil painting. Also, while I was in high school, my interest lay in Math and Science. Therefore, my career decision became a difficult one. I had to find something that was both technical and artistic. I finally discovered my future field in Graphic Arts, as it involves both the technical and the many opportunities. In closing, I would like to thank all those students that have made the past two years extremely enjoyable for me. I wish for them future success in the field of their choice. Dawn Halpenny

Ruth Green Since I have been sep- arated for six years I feel as thougfi I have raised my five children on my own. This is an accomplishment of which I am very proud. It has given me the feeling that I have finally succeeded at some- thing, and prepared me for going out of the house, and trying even more. I want to be self-sufficient and support myself, and I want my child- ren to do the same even- tually. Graphic Arts has intro- duced me to job opportuni- ties that I didn ' t know existed. My two majors, Offset and Typography, although caus- ing me a few frustrations, are very intriguing to me. Typography is frustrating work, but it is also very chal- lenging to me. You have to hustle to getthe assignments i done, and just when you think your ' re catching up, there ' s another assignment waiting for you. For this type of work you must be alert or the com- puter tells you you ' ve made a mistake. My classmates have given me help and encouragement by accepting me. I will not forget the people involved in my years at Niagara College and wish them every success.

Shelly Jones With graduation only months away, I thought I would take this opportunity to introduce you to myself. As well as being a member of the Ladies Intermediate Softball Team for my home- town, Fort Eire, I am inter- ested in horses and skiing. Although unsure in the beginning of exactly what the course was offering me, I have no doubt that my typing skills as well as my voca- tional art courses were a def- inite asset in preparing me for Graphic Arts. Now that I have nearly reached my goal, I have begun to set many more. One of which is to someday work in an agency from nine to five with week- ends off. My highest aspira- tion however, is to learn to be satisfied with what I feel is my best. At present, I am majoring in Process Photography and Design but have experience in Typography as well as run- ning a Multilith 1250. I would like to work specifically in a photo department but feel that employment in any of these other fields would make for a great beginning.
