decided that the program wasn ' t what I really had in mind. The course leaned heavily on accounting and I was more interested in advertising and consumer relations so I decided to switch to the Graphic Arts program, hoping it would lead to a job in the advertising business. My majors are Art and Typography. Typography is In highschool my majors were Marketing, Drafting and Art. My main goal was to get into display and advertising. I enjoy playing tennis and swimming as well as winter sports like cross-country ski- ing and tobogganing. After highschool I enrolled in the Business Administra- tion program at Niagara Col- lege with plans to major in Marketing. After one year I my main interest and I hope to get a job as a photo type- setter or a related position. I would like to get a job in the area but I will relocate if necessary.

R. J. Burger A large portion of my spare time is devoted to fitness. Three times a week after classes, I enjoy weight train- ing at Phil ' s Health Centre. I also like to run for relaxation; this I do all seasons. Soccer is my favorite team sport. I find it equally fun playing or watching. Painting and draw- ing are hobbies I occupy myself with at home. My favorite subject matter is the depiction of people. I have been active in 35mm photo- graphy for the past 3 years. I usually seek scenes involv- ing action or theme setting situations. I believe the fewer major goals one has, the greater opportunity of achieving suc- cess. The continuation of exercising is dominant in my life. Another goal is to keep pursuing fine art. Photography and art were the majors I chose this year. With the aid of these two courses I hope to find employment in layout work or camera operation.

Ruth Green Since I have been sep- arated for six years I feel as thougfi I have raised my five children on my own. This is an accomplishment of which I am very proud. It has given me the feeling that I have finally succeeded at some- thing, and prepared me for going out of the house, and trying even more. I want to be self-sufficient and support myself, and I want my child- ren to do the same even- tually. Graphic Arts has intro- duced me to job opportuni- ties that I didn ' t know existed. My two majors, Offset and Typography, although caus- ing me a few frustrations, are very intriguing to me. Typography is frustrating work, but it is also very chal- lenging to me. You have to hustle to getthe assignments i done, and just when you think your ' re catching up, there ' s another assignment waiting for you. For this type of work you must be alert or the com- puter tells you you ' ve made a mistake. My classmates have given me help and encouragement by accepting me. I will not forget the people involved in my years at Niagara College and wish them every success.
