As you begin your adult life, Newtown wishes you success and happiness. The success that Newtown desires for you who have been her sons and daughters for these four years is not the success of riches, nor of prestige, nor of eminence. lf these come, Newtown will rejoice with you and be glad. But if they do not, she will not mind. And she will expect you not to mind. For Newtown has taught you to measure success by other standards. She has taught you that he, and he only, has had a successful life who has done each day what duty and honor required, who has followed his conscience in all things, who, in fulfilling his obligations, has placed justice above all else and, in dealing with his fellow-men, charity. This, then, is success. And such success has happiness always for its consort-not pleasure perhaps, not ease, not luxury, not care-free days-but peace of soul which is the other name for happiness. These are what Newtown wishes you as you depart. May you attain them in full measure. Page' five
