Thirteenth-Carol Clark, our fit-throwing member refuses to relate the cause of her spasms, but will leave a general set of rules on how to distort one's inadequate countenance. Fourteenth-Frank Leaver's executive and diplomatic qualities, few as they are, are left to those conservative boys who are always finding their mouths open, waiting for their feet. Fifteenth--Marie Stanton distributes among those with no talent, her enormous supply of artistic achievements. . Sixteenth-Mary Hunihan transmits her special version of teasingto those with a more sardonic nature. Seventeenth-Lorraine Wheeler gladly hands down her small, black book of Navy addresses to any girl if that certain one will agree to the Hands Off policy when it is a question of a particular Navy gob . In witness whereof, we have set our hand and seal, on this, the 20th day of June, anno Domini, nineteen hundred and forty-six. , -EMY Lou STRASBURGER LORRAINB WHEELER. 522239 X , 1 f 1 28

7 usllllull unit eslnm ani ol llte Gllassnf19 6 We, the class of 1946 of Hawley High School, town of Newtown, County of Fairfield, State of Connecticut, U. S. A., being of sound mind and body, conjure up, establish, publish, and ordain this to be our last will and testament, hereby revoking all others and former wills by us at any time made. To our beloved superiors, teachers, and undergraduates we bequeath the following bits of precious valuables, tangible and otherwise. First-We, the retiring seniors who have weathered the storm in Hawley until 1946, humbly leave behind our over-powering gift of playing dumb, our magnificent bird brains, and our dynamic personalities to whichever class should have the courage to Hy in the face of fate . Second-To the undergraduates we solemnly leave our Great Stone faces and illu- sive characteristics with hopes that they will remember us in our better moments. Third-To the faculty with many apologies for the delay, we leave our absence slips insuring them of our continued absence CHallelujahJ. Fourth-Margie Wood has agreed to ration out her large supply of gum, teaching at the same time the exact etiquette of chewing-all free! Fifth-Velma Kovacs, our chemistry expert, gives up her claim to formulas and leaves to any up-and-coming junior the tradition of bluliing through at least one class. Sixth-George Mayers, our 1946 Romeo, bequeaths to any sentimental person his perfected book of instructions on how to grow skunk cabbages. Seventh-Emy Lou Strasburger wills to that junior beanpole her surplus material hoping that this great sacrifice will more or less even things up. Eighth-Martha Rothe will lend to any curious boy or girl her glasses in the good cause of allowing them a better view of the 1957 pin-up girls. Ninth-Burr Morgan's do-not-care attitude is left to any one of the studious indi- viduals who have a conscientious mind and who dig for their marks. Tenth-Loretta Nichols, after a bit of debate, has consented to pass on her bobby-sox giggles and her treasurer's books. Eleventh--Hughie Quinn offers a real he-man hand shake to any boy who will sign on the dotted line promising that he will make sure that the school is provided with romance. Twelfth-Mary Crouch silently relinquishes her right to be quiet and inconspicious to any junior girl wishing to shed her boisterous adolescence. 27

They believe that each celestial body acts as a great magnet leading a person on to his destiny. Whether you have faith in this or not I am sure that you will find it interesting to indulge in the study of the stars. I did this one evening, and to my surprise I found the future lives of my classmates fascinating. Service in the United States Army is predicted for Hugh Quinn by Sagittarius. Early in 1949 he will make a long trip. Hugh has always wanted to go to China, hasn't he? Later being influenced by domestic signs, Mr. Quinn will spend most of his life trying to earn enough to keep a maid to help his wife with her work, and trying to teach his six children to be great basketball players. Venus will wonder if she has not planted herself in the wrong house when she finds Marjorie Wood keeping the home fires burning in a small cottage. Can it be that her sign, without intent, has endowed Margie with classic Libran perfection? Her emotional dic- tator has led many young Libra natives into the modeling profession. However, Marjorie claims she will remain at home while her husband is off marching. In the next decade Scorpio will ascend slowly, and even at times retrace his path. Marie Stanton's career will rise and fall just as will her sign, but by the time that the zenith is reached and maintained Marie will be widely known as one of the greatest commercial artists of the twentieth century. Loretta Nichols was born under Scorpio. Loretta will dedicate most of her life to the care of disabled veterans, for she is destined to become an army nurse. Another girl who will become a nurse is Mary Hunihan. The gentleness of touch, the kind personality of Taurus born women can lead them into no other profession except nursing or marriage. George Mayer's Sagittarius will prove itself to be the dollar sign. In 1967 George will own one of the wealthiest cattle ranches in the West. His prize steers will win national recognition.
