7 usllllull unit eslnm ani ol llte Gllassnf19 6 We, the class of 1946 of Hawley High School, town of Newtown, County of Fairfield, State of Connecticut, U. S. A., being of sound mind and body, conjure up, establish, publish, and ordain this to be our last will and testament, hereby revoking all others and former wills by us at any time made. To our beloved superiors, teachers, and undergraduates we bequeath the following bits of precious valuables, tangible and otherwise. First-We, the retiring seniors who have weathered the storm in Hawley until 1946, humbly leave behind our over-powering gift of playing dumb, our magnificent bird brains, and our dynamic personalities to whichever class should have the courage to Hy in the face of fate . Second-To the undergraduates we solemnly leave our Great Stone faces and illu- sive characteristics with hopes that they will remember us in our better moments. Third-To the faculty with many apologies for the delay, we leave our absence slips insuring them of our continued absence CHallelujahJ. Fourth-Margie Wood has agreed to ration out her large supply of gum, teaching at the same time the exact etiquette of chewing-all free! Fifth-Velma Kovacs, our chemistry expert, gives up her claim to formulas and leaves to any up-and-coming junior the tradition of bluliing through at least one class. Sixth-George Mayers, our 1946 Romeo, bequeaths to any sentimental person his perfected book of instructions on how to grow skunk cabbages. Seventh-Emy Lou Strasburger wills to that junior beanpole her surplus material hoping that this great sacrifice will more or less even things up. Eighth-Martha Rothe will lend to any curious boy or girl her glasses in the good cause of allowing them a better view of the 1957 pin-up girls. Ninth-Burr Morgan's do-not-care attitude is left to any one of the studious indi- viduals who have a conscientious mind and who dig for their marks. Tenth-Loretta Nichols, after a bit of debate, has consented to pass on her bobby-sox giggles and her treasurer's books. Eleventh--Hughie Quinn offers a real he-man hand shake to any boy who will sign on the dotted line promising that he will make sure that the school is provided with romance. Twelfth-Mary Crouch silently relinquishes her right to be quiet and inconspicious to any junior girl wishing to shed her boisterous adolescence. 27
