This year's Field Hockey Team went into the season with the goal of bettering last years record. Although they were rela- tively young and inexperienced, they managed to finish the season with four wins, nine losses and one tie beating last year's mark of 3-8-3. Their record does not accurately relfect the team's performance as many of their games were lost by only one goal. Much of their success was due to the leadership provided by co-captains Celia Savitz and Sally Weltman. Coach Celeste Myers felt that this was a building year as only seven team members were seniors. Next year she believes the underclassmen will help the team to become a league power. Te .Q +4 8 LI-1 The football team ended its 3-7 season with a 14-7 victory over Brookline in the traditional Thanksgiving Day game. Coach Peter Capodilupo felt the win was, a nice finish to a disappointing but not disheartening season. He also felt he had achieved his goal of improving with game. We accomplished a lot, he said. We really played well the second half of the season, and most of our losses were close. Much of this success was due to the return of tri-captain Geoff Drew, who returned after an injury that kept him sidelined for the first few games. Although the season was somewhat frustrating the Tigers were a factor in every game they played. First year coach Capodilupo said, I'm very proud of the ability that the kids have to learn from their mistakes. He also praised captains Steven Anthony, Gregg Rutan and Geoff Drew for their leadership both on the field and off.
