A 4 '-hq..-up Walking down Main Street can be a harrowing experience any time of day. Sharp co-ordination is necessary to dodge the swinging book bags and flailing arms which can inflict serious injury on unsuspecting students. Main Street also displays the diversity of our student population. For example, take that presumably easy trek from Bacon House to the Barry Staircase. ln Bacon you find the '1Junks , and you are forever stepping quickly aside to avoid being tripped by a skateboard. Having passed this first obstacle, you can move on to Riley. This is a relatively easy region to pass through, if you can wade through the hundreds of people congregated on t-he library steps. Now you can take a breather until you hit the Palmer Tree mushes : harmless unless provoked. lf by chance you do instigate them, it's advisable to quickly jog to Adam's house - unmistakably characterized by emerald walls. Throughout your hike you have to watch out for various statements such as Library and Pool printed in large block letters on side walls. These are for the 'students who cannot think for themselves even when they see shelves and stacks of books, or a deep hole filled with water. After passing through Adam's House, your eyes will be accosted by chartreuse, a color that can be dangerous if stared at for too long. You are now in the final House, Barry, which has no distinguishable features. Ifyou were lucky you will have completed the journey with only a few bruises and a mild headache. -A.K. .N t A.
