Suddenlya girl at the helm! Perhaps for the first time in Newton history, chance has dealt to women a place of prominence. The elected president of the class - a boy - moved to another community and, as constitution dictates, the vice-president - a girl - moved into office. The activities of the junior Class included the inevitable class rings and the junior Prom. The rings were selected and ordered during the early part of 1964 and the jun- iors selected and ordered during the early part of 196-1 and the juniors anxiously await- ed their arrival. Plans for the junior Prom were successfully carried out at Sidney Hill Country Club. The Class raised a respectable three hundred dollars on its November 22nd Junior XVork Day. Fifty dollars of this money was set aside for the library in john F. Kennedys name. The remaining money was contributed to the Congress On Racial Equality fC.O.R.E.D. A similar work day was repeated in the spring. Throughout the year the Junior Class grew together as it worked together. .law is 'J MISS SUSAN PARKER junior Class Adviser
