DEDICATIGN The five teachers honored on this page are, in a sense, a varied group. Miss Virginia F. Altieri teaches typing and shorthand in the Business De- partment, and is well-known as adviser of the Neuftonite Advertising Staff. As a counselor in the Guidance Department, Miss Helen M. Finnerty has become an integral part of Bacon House. Mr. Malcolm P. Gallagher is As- sistant Head of the Social Studies Department, and has coached football, baseball, and track. Mr. Henry Lasker teaches Music Theory and Appreciation, and has been musical director of many school productions. And Mr. Reg- inald Smith, who has coached or managed nearly every school sport, is Head Teacher of the Boys' Physical Education Department. They have each taught at Newton High School for twenty years. To each of them, with gratitude and respect for their service to a gen- eration of students, the 1963-6-1 N6Zl'f0lZfrI72 is dedicated. sa iff, Miss Helen M. Finnerty Miss Virginia F. Altieri

We are proud and grateful that we have come to know our teachers as sensitive, humorous individuals, when in such a huge and automated school as ours we could have accepted the words of alien oracles. Our teachers as a group are as complex as we areg their colorful personalities and their understanding of student psychology have made the way smoother for the basic business of transmitting knowledge.
