SENIOR ELASS HISTUHY 1 As we look back over our four years in Newton-Conover High School, it hardly seems possible that time could have passed so swiftly. It seems like only yesterday that we, the Class of '49, were mere Freshmen, drifting about in a swirling sea of upperclassmen. Une hundred and thirteen in number, we wandered through the halls, entered the Wrong classrooms, and generally exhibited the traits of green Freshmen. As our president we chose Patricia Coley. In September, 1946, one hundred of us returned to this institution of learning as Sophomores. Harry VVarliclc served capably as our class president. Then came our Junior year in high school. Ninety-one strong, we elected Frances Ar-ndt editor and published the Hi-Life. ln the spring of 1948 We staged the linest Iunior- Senior Banquet in the history of the school. Leonard Butler was our junior class president. Now, at last, we are Seniors. As our president we have chosen Sammy Rowe. Under the able guidance of its editor, Bill Reinhardt, the sixteenth edition of THE CLARDINAL has been successfully published. BILL ZINITBAUBI, Historian 1 1 e Eight
