To the Superintendent. faculty ancl School Board we do will and bequeath our sincere appreciation for their many acts of kindness and noble efforts shown us while under their care and supervision. Mr. Walter Reinhardt has announced the opening of the Claremont Dairy. This new dairy is one of a chain that Mr. Reinhardt' is operating. Mrs. Oscar C. Good. the former Miss Aileen Cline. told the press today that she intends to sail for Europe next month. Miss Margaret Rowe will leave next week for New York where she will enter the national beauty show to be held there. Miss Helen Corpening. news editor of the Culfsh Courier, has just published her latest book. Etiquette in the Classroom. . Word has been received here that two women. Misses Ruth Keever and Louise Sherrill. are among the candidates for the governorship of Utah. Miss Keever is running on the Socialist ticket, while Miss Sherrill is upholding the Communistic ideals. Mr. Fred Clark. internationally known baseball pitcher. has signed a contract with the Chicago Cubs for next' season. Miss Vivian Bolick, blues singer over radio station WSOC, was among the lucky ones to win huge sums from the Irish Sweepstakes last week. Miss Marjorie Schell. a well known journalist. is writing for the Charlotte Observer, a series of editorials entitled The Curse on our Younger Generation. Prof. James Bolick, of the State College faculty. has announced his intentions of getting up an expedition to study plant life on the Antarctic Continent. Miss Mildred Sttllivan. private secretary to the U. S. ambassador to India. is home on a vacation. Miss Eva Jones, movie star of a few seasons ago, has made known her intentions to stage a comeback into the movie world. Mr. Thurmond I-larvell will open a tap-dancing school in the Catfish section sometime next month. Miss Evelyn Martin of the Columbia University faculty has returned from a twelve- months tour of the world. She has made a study of the social conditions in the countries she visited. Miss Kathryn Simmons has made known her plans to charter an airplane for a hurried trip to the Orient. where she will attend to affairs on her rice plantation. Mr. James Murray, graduate of West Point, has decided to continue with the Army. Miss Pauline Simmons has announced her engagement to be married to a multi-millionaire. whose name was not revealed, Miss Betty Shuford has recently stated that her nationally known Matrimonial Service will be extended throughout Canada and Mexico. Miss Shuford's motherly advice to thousands of young men and women may be heard every day on a nation wide radio hook-up. Miss Eloise Carpenter. according to reports, is on her way to California where she will take charge of her extensive orange groves. Mr. Donald Watters has recently bought out the controlling interest in Watt'ers. Watters. and Watters. Inc.. of this section. Miss Virginia Smith has just been awarded her Ph.D. at Columbia University. Mr. Frank Self has announced that he intends to open an elaborate chain of hamburger stands throughout the Piedmont section of North Carolina. Miss Ruby Self. a famous beauty specialist of New York. said last week, in a statement to the press. that she would not let' any hair tonic manfacturers use her name in connection with their products. Mr. Joe Knox was recently admitted to the Conover Clinic for the Mentally Defective. The only thing Knox would say was. Don't cross your bridges until they're hatched.
