Opponenls described his abilily as posilively uncanny. Long passes were his specially. BROOKS lJuniorl-KENNETH, one ol lhe lighlesl linemen in lhe league, was lhe personilicalion ol a lighling avalanche. His abilily lo upsel rival linemen proved lhe adage of Brains over Brown . HENDERSON lSeniorl-MAURICE, in his lirsl year oul lor loolball, showed greal improvemenl dur- ing lhe season. Handicapped by inexperience, bul willing and aggressive, he made a very im- pressive showing. WAKEFIELD lSeniorl-DALE, inexperienced in var- sily compelilion, became one ol our slalwarls in lhe defensive line. His size enabled him lo drive over mosl opposilion and lo inllicl greal damage lo opponenls' backlields. He will be greally missed nexl season. FLANAGAN lSeniorl-JOHN, in his second sea- son as varsily cenler, was dangerous bolh on olfense and delense. His abilily lo pass ellecl- ively under pressure made him one ol lhe besl cenlers in lhe conlerence. SNYDER lSeniorl-RAY, a regular end ol lasl season, became a very ellicienl blocker and was able lo hold down quarlerback and lullback spols during lhis campaign. His excellenl punl- ing was second lo none: hence he was able lo kick oul ol many dangerous spols. LAUGEL lSeniorl- MOUSE lo his lriends was lhe only experienced back who was able lo play lhroughoul lhe season. The season opened with a bang when we de- teated our old rival, Oblong, by a score at 34-20. Atter that we were dealt cleteats by Neoga, I-lutsonville, and Casey. But then in the next game we deteated Greenuos strong team. All during the season we have maintained an average ot 50070 or more in the E.I. League. This year the school purchased the new style baclcboards adapted by the Illinois I-Iigh School Association. Only 377, ot the old style baclcboards are in use today.
