National Honor Society This year, for our president, we had a born leader. Lydia Cedrone has persevered to bring prestige back to National Honor. With Vice President Pat Cahill, she worked to raise the standards of the Society. Pat contributed by giving an outstanding example as a fine student and athlete Treasurer Regina Canty man- aged the funds and kept the re- ceipts for the many events plan- ned throughout the year. Terry Conway, Secretary, recorded all ideas and was ready to help. National Honor Society spon- sored activities such as flowers for St. Pats day and transporta- tion to the play for elderly citizens. They will continue their effort to promote scholarships, leadership, service, and charac- ter, to create a feeling of pride in the school.

This year the talents of the Dra- ma Club were put to very good use. They produced “A Christ- mas Carol’, and performed skits for the Senior College Night. Miss Gallagher provided guidance which helped the students de- velop their own skills. Jim O'Neill directed, with the help of others, the Christmas play. All the play- ers turned out wonderful perfor- mances which made their shows successful. The club has pro- vided the students with a produc- tive role which benefits both the school and themselves.

Yearbook You are now reading the pro- duct of all our sweat and tears. We have labored to compile a book which will convey the spirit of Newton Catholic. This has not been an easy task. Please don't misunderstand, we have enjoyed our work. We hope that you feel as proud of this book as we do. Seniors, this is our last glimpse of N.C. Please cherish it as you do all your other high school memor- ies. To the under classmen we leave experienced hands to guide when we are gone. The staff extends their gratitude to all those who contributed to this book. Good-bye and good luck.
