It’s a time to share special moments and make alittle history. What we will see as seniors, will have been developed while we were Juniors. We have had our ups and our downs lets trust in one another that the future will hold very few downs. Party long and study hard will make our Junior class strong. Let’s make our High school years good times to remember always. ils : . 18 ctthtties ctthtties ctthtties ctthtties ctthtties ctthtties ctthtties cttotties ctthtties cttotties ctthtties ctibtties ctibities ctibtties ctthtties ctthtties ctihtties ctthtties ctibtties ctibtties ctiotties ctthtties Getting Inboloed ctibtties ctiftties ctthtties ctthtties ctibities ctthtties ctthtties ctthtties Senior Class Officers Senior Class President Ruth Howard, has been active part of the student government for her four years in high school. She has worked hard to make the class of “82” the best. Vice President Lee-Anne Dow- ney, contributed her own spirit and ideas. She presented the thoughts of the students to the administration. Kathy Ahearn as secretary ful- filled her duty by helping organize the Senior Christmas Party and Magazine Drive. Her enthusiasm inspired others to contribute. Treasurer Julia Murphy, effi- ciently kept the records of the class in order. She could be-fre- quently seen at the bank with the cash. Student Council Lydia Cedrone president of Student Council has worked with the student body and faculty to better the needs and wants of the students. Vice President Jeanne Palkey has gathered up many ideas to make possible more activities in the school. Therefore, to better the atmosphere among the stu- dents. Secretary Andrea Deli-Colli made many contributions to the Student Council by supporting and fulfilling her job to the fullest. Treasurer Audry Walsh man- aged all the money brought in by Student Council. All funds were secure in her hands. Glee Club The Glee Club has brought song and harmony to our celebrations and assemblies. Under Miss Gallagher’s guidance the members of the club de- veloped their voices and team- work. They are often heard prac- ticing after school. Much effort has been put into their fine performances. We all appreciate their contribution to make our community gatherings more spe- cial. Please keep up the good work. Your music makes a differ- ence. This year the talents of the Dra- ma Club were put to very good use. They produced “A Christ- mas Carol’, and performed skits for the Senior College Night. Miss Gallagher provided guidance which helped the students de- velop their own skills. Jim O'Neill directed, with the help of others, the Christmas play. All the play- ers turned out wonderful perfor- mances which made their shows successful. The club has pro- vided the students with a produc- tive role which benefits both the school and themselves. National Honor Society This year, for our president, we had a born leader. Lydia Cedrone has persevered to bring prestige back to National Honor. With Vice President Pat Cahill, she worked to raise the standards of the Society. Pat contributed by giving an outstanding example as a fine student and athlete Treasurer Regina Canty man- aged the funds and kept the re- ceipts for the many events plan- ned throughout the year. Terry Conway, Secretary, recorded all ideas and was ready to help. National Honor Society spon- sored activities such as flowers for St. Pats day and transporta- tion to the play for elderly citizens. They will continue their effort to promote scholarships, leadership, service, and charac- ter, to create a feeling of pride in the school. Yearbook You are now reading the pro- duct of all our sweat and tears. We have labored to compile a book which will convey the spirit of Newton Catholic. This has not been an easy task. Please don't misunderstand, we have enjoyed our work. We hope that you feel as proud of this book as we do. Seniors, this is our last glimpse of N.C. Please cherish it as you do all your other high school memor- ies. To the under classmen we leave experienced hands to guide when we are gone. The staff extends their gratitude to all those who contributed to this book. Good-bye and good luck. tera pene ? ob | i j 3 4 4 || } i vpn aansbeetiani tae “A Christmas Carol” was the first play to be pro- duced for the Christmas season. Raw materials were sanded, scraped and painted to make the sets. Costumes were sewn and rehearsals continued for hours into the night. Finally the finished product was presented to the public before vacation. Everything went well and much credit goes to Mary Treddin. She brought all aspects of production to create a professional and enjoyable show. 27 30 ei aculty aculty aculty aculty aculty aculty aculty aculty aculty aculty aculty aculty aculty aculty acultyu aculty aculty aculty aculty aculty aculty aculty i Faculty One Hig Aappy Hamily aculty aculty aculty aculty aculty aculty aculty red (Fb ee ae eed a ne a SN NS ON ON ON TOON TOON Bao veoh, rp Pad Pd Pad Pad Pad Pad Cart H ; y ; : | Sr. Alice Mary Sr. Julia Fitzpatrick Sr. Elinor Keane Rev.
