Extra-curricular activities play an important role in the de- velopment of students of today. Working together in many or- ganizations teaches the fundamentals of cooperation and team- work. In the years to come these will enable students as citizens to take a more active roll in the life of the community. Newport News High School offers many excellent opportunities to express ideas and exhibit talents. Each student is given an equal chance to participate in those activities he feels will benefit him best and bring honor to his school. This organization recognizes those students who excel in leadership, scholarship, character, and service. Honor Council Endeavoring to promote honesty in all aspects of school life is the main objective of the Honor Council.
