NEAR THE ENTRANCE TO THE SOUTH GATE, students learn to appreciate mu- sic by listening to recordings. They work diligently on songs to be sung at the dis- trict contest and spring concert. With amazing and amusing results our re quired music classes presented a sprightly musicale entitled The Cay Nineties in Song and Story tistic goals these students get daily in struction in the use of pencil charcoal pastels water color and oils In he spring field trips beckon them outside to do landscape sketching They are proud of their careful results some of which you may have seen on display in your tour of the library 'VN 28 THE BELLS ARE RINCINC as three percussion students get in a little prac tice Classes are divided according to the type ot instruments brass woodwind and percussion There are also junior band classes which prepare the lower classmen tor membership in the senior band it 1 it S 7 VX l lxw.
