THE BEACON, the school news- 1':',,y '? paper, took to the air on February 21. Jack Gray, the announcer, on the right, interviewed Billy Harmon, Richard Hudgins, Elmo Stephenson, and Jacqueline Gil- land on the first program .... Overcast skies didn't stop the band and the BEACON reporter from being on hand to witness the launching of the carrier SS New- port News ....
