Class Poem Parents, friends, students, it's my pleasant duty To introduce the Class of 1958. Wc've studied together to win our diplomas! The future's ahead: what will be our fate ? X - James Beck, known simply as Jim , 1 sa? Has the manners of a professor about himg He's tall in stature, and has good looks- Like a duck takes to water, he takes to books. Roy, our senior giant, so strong and so tall, Is one of the boys who plays basketballg He has dark hair and a smile very charming, Would rather stay home and help Dad do the farming. A lad straight and tall is Ronnie Ray Rumple, His lashes are longg in his chin a big dimple. When we were first graders and we couldn't talk plain, He was Wonnie Way Wumple when we called his name. Martha Williamson is the studious type, Every subject she takes is done just about right, If to college she goes, she'll work none the less- Whatever she does, we wish her success. Now Donna and Dorothy are always together, Be it rainy or snowy or any kind of weather, They ride the school bus from out of the west, And as cheerleaders, they're rated the best. Marvin Craft, so dark and so handsome, Is a basketball whiz which goes without saying, He's clever and fast, and dribbles like mad, The crowd's all agog whenever he's playing. There's Ted Henry, a very blond lad, Changes his hair-do with every new fad, Elvis Presley he looks not like a bit-- But with lots of the gals he makes quite a hit. Tony Costello, the Sheriff's son, xr' 7' 5' . ' Is our basketball manager, and a good one. X v ss- ,J After graduation, he plans to enter L v A-5 A barber school, this coming winter. i '7 Wanda Smith is our East End gal, ' She never has too much to say, Even though she's very short and so small, . The students all like her anyway. '- --3 Compliments of WATSON FUNERAL HOME GILLIS PHARMACY Cayuga, Indiana Clinton, Indiana

Paul Trosper is our country lad. He's not too shy, or not too bold. The things he's always doing for others F C' Come from a heart that's made of gold. x x , Harold Roderick lives in O. P. D. Don't think he ever looked twice at any she , He'd rather go htmting for rabbits and squirrels Than to be bothered with parties and girls. Another pretty girl in our class Is Dorothy Myers, a country lass: I suspect she knows how to cook and also to sew- Because most girls do, from the country, you know. Warren Gordon has a style that is his very own, In a basketball game, he is never outshone. In fact he succeeds in all that he doesg He is the good sport whom everyone loves. A barber, Dave Newlin intends to be, The hair and unsightly whiskers to mowg Why don't you take up singing, Dave, And be another Perry Como? The singer of our class is Glenn, And also for dancing he has a yen. l He's tops on the drums, as all his friends know. Good drumming , Glenn, wherever you go. Larry lSchul1 is a lady's man, we're very sure, - In his well-cut clothes, so good-looking and dapperg His manner is so very beguiling, For he is always beaming and smiling. Q Did you ever hear of a mushroom hound ? Orville is the guy, when that season rolls round. You know he can find them when they can't be found- Nearly a bushel, 'twas said, and right in town. Quiet and shy, and exceedingly pretty Is Connie, the lass from the Foreman home, She doesn't say much which, perhaps, is a pity, But we wish her good-luck where'er she may roam. I, Edwin Whittington am not a poet, Art is the place where my talent can shine, I have introduced each of my classmates to you, 'Tis a pleasure to know these friends of mine. fs We're leaving behind us twelve years of schooling: We've learned all our lessons: commencement is near. As we go separate ways, may Fate treat us kindly, And success crown our efforts in our future years.
