Class History Q , n .0 l K' l Z , ln the lall ol' l95-l. twenty green freshmen enrolled at Newport lligh. We elected as class officers Pnesident-Martha Williamson: Vice-President-Roy Hollingsworth: Secretary-James Beck: and Treasurer-Dorothy Adams. Our sponsor was the new music teacher, Mr. Dallas Coffman. We had a bake sale and gave the high school a Halloween party. As sophomores, the boys out-numbered the girls, fourteen to nine. Mrs. Donna Snoddy was our sponsor. Class officers were: President-James Beck: Vice-President- Roy Hollingsworth: Secretary-Dorothy Adams: and Treasurer-Donna Debolt, We had one bake sale. We lost Larry Scholl, Larry Lamb, and Marvin Fortner: but attained another classmate. Stanley Williams. We were represented in Student Council by Ronald Rumple and Martha Williamson. Our junior year. began without Yvonne Park, Karen Steepleton and Carolyn Russell. At Christmas, Stanley Williams. our president moved away. Roy Hollingsworth our vice-president took his place. James Beck, secretary: Glenn Fulton, treasurer: Ronald Rumple and Donna Debolt, Student Council Representatives, completed the list of ofl'icers. Mrs. Stull was our sponsor. We sold magazines, Christmas cards, had a bake sale. and presented a play Books and Crooks . We gave the Junior-Senior Reception. Larry Scholl returned and the boys still out-numbered the girls. Finally we were seniors. We organized for activities with James Beck, presi- dent: Martha Williamson, vice-president: Roy Hollingsworth, secretary: Edwin Whittington, treasurerg Ronald Rumple and Martha Williamson, Student Council Representatives. and Mrs. Albright, sponsor. We sold stationery, license plates, name quilt, pens. turkeys, and presented a three-act play, Pals First . We also published our annual. and the birthday calendar, and collected rags. The highlight 'of the history of the Class of '58, as of other classes, is achiev- cd as we participate in the Baccalaureate and Commencement Exercises and enjoy the Senior trip.
