NEWS At the first meeting of the Future Farmers the following oflicers Were elected: President ,,.,.......... .,..,.. I ames Smith Vice President ,,.,..,.,.....,... .Gerald Talbot Secretary .....,..,.., ,... ......,.. . . Richard Mills Treasurer .........,....... George Norsworthy Reporter .....,. .,,.,..,........ R alph Flagg Sentinel .....................,............,. Carl Braley Early in the year the Junior and Senior agriculture boys went to Sears- port to visit a 'fertilizer factory. On the thirtieth of Ianuary a delega- tion of the F. F. A. boys visited the trade show held in Lewiston Armory and remained there all day. Some of the latest agriculture equipment, includ- ing tractors, sprayers and planters, was on display. In the afternoon a colo1'ed movie on mow drying proved very in- teresting. Following the movie a lecture on Selections for Breedingi' was given by a professor from Amherst College. The boys also have a basketball team this year, made up of Future Farmers, under the coaching of Mr. Kennedy. They have played several games very creditably. The Agriculture boys have just moved into their new classroom and have built a lumber rack for the shop. The lumber rack is very nearly filled as we had some lumber sawed and piled it up to dry. The new electric Welder arrived and we are having quite a time learning to weld.
