“CLASS HISTORY On the morning of September 1, 1938, a jolly, laughing group of boys and girls, Duane weeks, D1ck Ashdown, Albert Mbeser, Grace Sewell, Joan Elklns, Lyla Bailey, Junior Haugen and Bernice Kress entered school as the nucleus of our class of 1950 One of our greatest accomplishments was the construction of a board davenport that we built, padded, and covered with blue material structions were given by our teacher, H ss Halleur The next year Miss Knaber was our gu1de Here we learned the princlples of 'readin' 'riting' and 'rlthmetic' Those who joined us this year were Ralph Green, Lucille Hiebert, and Patricia Clark we were brownies, fairies, toy tops and drunnwre in the Chr1stmas play The second grade was taught by M ss Hect During this year we went to the bakery after stud ing about the business To complete the venture the manager treated us to a cream puff each Our gun toting gal, Joyce Vanairsdale jolned us this year we performed as plates, forks, and knlves 1n the Christmas play. In the third grade we were joined by Orville Rlchardson On the opening day of school M ss Taylor greeted us with a smile we studied all about the fire department and later visited the fire department and recelved a ride on the flre truck For the Christmas play we performed as cooks and bakers Miss Standfield was our teacher in the fourth grade War was declared thls year but since we had practlced as angels we went ahead and put on the Christmas play Our fifth year saw a slzable increase ln the size of our group, Alice Crysler, who talked continually, Joan Krehblel, Norma Olson and Art Mannlng. Due to the war we had no ChP1StmaS play In the s1xth grade Mass Stofflet guided us along the path of knowledge T contribute to the war we knltted blocks for an afghan In the seventh grade we were joined by four more students Anabelle Cherrey, best l1ked teachers taught us Our last year of grade school was taught by Mrs Baker D1ck B1shop, Rose Matson and Barbara Jo Peterson joined our class Elgth grade graduatlon was a big accompllshment for us It made us feel that we were beglnning to get a better start 1n life Comlng to school in the fall to commence our Frosh year we faced a few days of lipstlck, dressing up and the spats But that w1s just part of the fun. The new arravals from other schools were Ralph Peterson, Alice Pillars, Roy Fry, Jack Hall, Jane Kubota and several former students Laura Melin, Mary June Payne and Barbara Jermaln Maurice Mantzer, Burton Cook, Vivian Sutton and Kenny Taylor entered the Sophmore class This year we watched the frosh being 1n1tiated Boy, were we glad we weren't in their boots! Newcomers to our Junlor class were Russ Fahland, Glen Pete, James M ller, Edlth Walker and Gloria Schlck The theme of the prom this year was A Nlght 1n Central Park U The theme of our Senior ball held Decemoer 2, 191-19, was Moonlight and Red Rosesn Joan Elk1ns was chosen as Ball Queen The class play, directed by M138 Kay Ellsworth, was presented 1n the sprlng In September l9h9 Helen Wardlow jolned our onward marchlng ranks to the day of graduatlon whlch w1ll end a successful Senior year and the many happy years of school O 0 In- A L I . .
