One thing this team can be remembered for is their pride. At practice you could hear the constant echo of Pride being chanted as the Buffaloes stampeded up pride hill. After each opening kickoff the Buffaloes felt the steepness of the hill. By the end of the fourth quarter the team seemed to reach crest, but only to fall short of its goal as time ran out. This is reflected in the amount of scoring the Buffs did in the last moments. One bright star reflects in the eyes of the ’73 football team. For the first time in ten years they beat arch rival West Perry. Under the direction of head coach Gordon Snow the team felt the need to rise above past years' performances. But as the season drew to a close, it seemed that Newport was overpowered and once again destined to finish tenth in the Tri Valley League. 60 Upper Right: Row 1, D. Ehrhart, J. Kinzer, S.
