However, be- cause there was no organized team in Lincoln County, Coach York's toot- ball team had no season. Coach White's basketball squad played nine games, several with freshmen teams from other county schools. NeWport's Cardinals had three victories. Bob Butts held the year's captaincy. Coaches White and York directed spring sports, baseball and track re- spectively. Both Eighth Grade cheerleaders and pep club followed the teams and offered their support.
