PZ 'Z Za gone! 74600 da Both individual and group honors awarded the Newport Cubs at the annual Basketball Banquet included the Inspirational Player Award for Art Braxling, Free Throw trophy for Louie LeMaster, Rebound trophy for Larry Graves, and the Coast League Co-Charnpion- ship which Dennis Simmonds, Cubs' Captain, accepted. Because the Siletz Warriors, as well as the Newport Cubs, went to the state playoffs, they were honored at the Banquet sponsored by the Booster Club. Master of Ceremonies, Iohnny Carpenter. introduced speakers Bob Spangler, KNPT sports announcer, and Bill Borcher, former basketball coach of University of Oregon. Following the Banquet the Cubs and their guests saw Sue LeSueur, escorted by Louie LeMaster, crowned at the Basketball Dance. sponsored by the Pep Club.
