Helping to keep the students physically tit were girls' P.E. teacher, Miss Hienke, andythe boys' PE. teachers, Mr. White, and Mr. Iohn- son. Mr. White also taught two periods of driver's training. Mr. Iohnson, basketball coach and assistant football coach, included general mathematics in his teaching sched- ule. Stressing the fine arts, the third de- partment included Miss Luebke's four art classes, which offered first to fourth year training, Mr. Sandsmark's three afternoon chorus classes, and Mr. McCoy's band instruc- tion. He not only conducted the high school band but also instructed small instrumental groups and organized a swing band. In addi- tion to her four art classes, Miss Luebke was girls' counselor.
