They march on Spending a lot more time together, building unity and making closer friends was the accomplished goal of the 1977 Knight Crusaders, ac- cording to Ms. Barbara Velategui, adviser. Besides marching at all home football games and most home basket- ball games, the 32 iuniors and seniors also participated in such activi- ties as pot-luck suppers, a Christmas party and exchanging gifts with their secret-pals before every home game. Birthdays and special days were brought to attention by the Captains Renae Bair and Julie Boris, and Lieutenant Mary Plager was responsible for the music and counts of each march. Although it looks like all fun and games it's not always what it seems. lt takes about two weeks for the team to learn a routine, practicing everyday during lunch and sometimes before and after school.
