Text from Pages 1 - 176 of the 1955 volume:

F IMI E W IIIIII Home Is Where The Heart Is. Our own Newnan, the beautiful City of Homes, has been dear to the hearts of many people through the years. Steadily it has grown and de- veloped into a flourishing little city in the heart of Coweta County. Her many and various industries have played a great part in Newnan's rapid growth and development. Standing in the center of community life are Newnan's churches and schools. The former builds us spiritually, and the latter builds us mentally; together molding us into good citizens of the future. All of us are especially proud of our lovely high school building con- structed through the efforts of the people of Newnan and Coweta County. As a fine institution of learning, it draws boys and girls from every part of the county. Truly we shall be proud to say, I was graduated from New- nan High School. We, of the Annual Staff, know that this, the Empyrean of Nineteen Hundred Fifty-Five, will be dearer to your hearts because of our chosen theme— Newnan, the City of Homes. Page Two ii f ii 11: a 11 n i For your devoted teaching of our native language, For encouraging us to reach our highest heaven . For your deep interest in all students. For your unceasing friendliness, and especially For your high standards of Christian character, which you endeavor to pass on to us. We dedicate this, the ninth volume of the Empyrean, to you. Miss Maryella Camp. All hail Alma Mater Thy praises we sing. With loyal devotion Our tributes we bring. As pilgrims of learning We entered thy halls. And found wisdom waiting Within thy. classic walls. As true sons and daughters May we bring thee fame. And through coming years Love and honor thy name. A II M INI !i T II A T IIIIV MR. W. H.
