All well all shlpshape and seaworthy Treasure Island a s1te of enchantment exc1tement and educat1on Per haps you never cons1dered Treasure Island as a locatxon of 1nstruct1on Maybe that Treasure Island of Long John Sllver s day wasn t but our own Treasure Island Newmarket I-hgh School unquestlonably prov1des much learmng Through the var1ous rooms and corr1dors of the I-hgh School tread the future c1t1zens of our communlty state and country But these young C1t1ZCI1S have not accustomed themselves for th1s astoundlng mode of l1v1ng They have not exper1enced the del1ght of d1scover1ng the treasure Our I-hgh School endeavors to fmd the course wh1ch w1ll gu1de the students to the chest contalmng the most pr1celess possess1on ever owned The com merclal department furmshes exper1ence for young secretarles and future bus1 nessmen the shop tra1ns boys for all d1v1s1ons of pract1cal hand1work the k1tch en prepares our future homemakers for the1r l1ves as housewwes and our col lege curr1culum may entxtle any student to enter the college of h1s cholce How slowly the boat appears to saml when one IS seek1ng thxs Island and a treasure But thls IS not true for work and play result 1n the pas slng of t1me At last on that emxnent day when the dxplomas are presented one reahzes that th1s travel has not termlnated or been 1n valn The never endlng search for knowledge w1ll go on forever And so It seems qu1te f1tt1ng to choose the theme of Treasure Island 1n pre sent1ng to you our 1953 Lamprey 2 , .
