From row Robert Ons George Walker Edward Hamel Richard Caswell Eliot Bosrnger Back row Iac ques Gagnon Richard Shelton William Byron Jerome Canney David Nloore Coach Landroche he fight was over the victory was ours The first workout for boys athletic teams was called for early in September At this gathering an overwhelming number of aspirants turned out to vie for positions on the cross country track team From the very beginning competition between the boys was close be cause each endeavored to be on the team that would go to the state tournament As the team rounded into shape after two weeks of strenuous calis thenics and much running the initial meet of the season was held at San born Seminary The Mule Harriers won the dual meet by the slim mar gin of four points This was the start of the most successful track sea son in N H S history The team again defeated Sanborn in a return meet and continued to regular season was over our lone Class A opponent Dover The culmination of the year s work and efforts was realized when the 'Nlewmarket Harriers defeated a field of fourteen schools for possession or the cox eted plaque which represents state supremacy in cross country One of the outstanding achievements of the year was attained by fresh man Jacques Gagnon as the team participated in the New Englands at East Proxidence R l The yearlrng romped home in 26th position in a field of ox er 1-10 of the best hill and dalers in New England The majority of creditforthe success of the cross country team goes to Coach Landroche Hrs continuing efforts to keep the team in top con dition were the major factors contriouting to the undefeated season 8 ll--t ' , ' --ll . , . . go undefeated in N.I-l.l.l-LA. competition.
