So that s the toon 1 The Newmarket Hlgh School Mus1c Club was 1n stltutedthls year byagroup of students under the super v1s1on of Mr Crocker our new mus1c 1nstructor At the flrst meetmg of the organlzatlon the followmg Shelton Vlce pres1dent Sh1rley Roper Secretary Charlyn Stevens and Treasurer Shlrley Clark At thls same meet1ng the objectxves of the club were explalned and a tentat1ve soc1al and program calendar was drawn The f1rst soc1al event of the year was a record hop held at the hlgh school Other events st1ll 1n the plan nmng stages at th1s wr1t1ng are a concert by an 1nstru mental group from the Un1vers1ty of New Hampsh1re a sprmg assembly wh1ch w1ll feature another organ1zat1on from outs1de and a trlp to Boston by members to attend New market I-hgh Nmght at the The Boston Pops concerts The bmvest contr1but1on of the MUSIC Club thls year was the sponsorlng of a lyr1cs contest to be used for the Xlma 'viater of our school Wmth a Judgmg board made up of student members and faculty a w1nner w1ll be selected and awarded a pr1ze Muslc w1ll be wr1tten by students under the supervlslon of Mr Crocker Many thanks go to the off1cers for the1r hard work and to those who worked on comm1ttees to make the club a succe s J4 hu.
