Covey To the Staff and Sponsor of the Yucca Gloriosa I extend congratu- lations for publishing another fine Year Book. To the students, and especially to the Seniors, I Want to express my sincere appreciation for your loyalty, co-operation, and valuable con- tributions Which you have given to Newman High. Today practically the whole World is at war. We read our papers and listen to our radios, hoping for the best and preparing for the worst. Whatevei' may come, I hope that each of you Will be found doing your very best to do those things that must be done. When the storm is over, the War clouds have drifted beyond the horizons, and clear skies again appear, may each of you be prepared to pursue a life of peace, happi- ness, and success and secure all the bountiful blessings that your Divine Creator has in store for you.
