The members of the Girls' Athletic Association have been kept busy all year with bath social and sport activities. The social activities include the W,P,A, QWomen Pay Alll Halloween Party, Father-Daughter Dinner Party, Freshman Initiation Picnic, Sisters' Christmas Party, Carnival, and last but most important, the Mother-Daughter Banquet. Queen of Sports this year was Louise Regan. Other candidates for this title were Loretta Kiefer, Joyce Yell, and Anna Marie Blanding. Mart Papoccia reigned as King of Sports , and his competitors were Jim Grenna, Joe Ramirez and Larry Wahl. Mr. Joseph Novak and Mrs. Anna Warner reigned as King and Queen of Carnival. After eleven practices in volleyball the seniors were ready and determined to win the tournament, and did so by defeating the juniors, captained by Pat Wolf, Loretta Kiefer brought the seniors to the fore again by leading them to the title of basketball champions. Anna Marie Blanding won the basketball shooting contest and will receive a trophy. Barbara Gregorius also will receive a trophy for maintaining the highest bowling average. Other sports offered to the girls were dancing, hiking, tennis and golf. Joyce Yell and Anna Marie Blanding are the only seniors to receive the Sterling Silver Medal for completing all the sports for four years. 51
