O laJuumz Each year we look forward with interest and enthusiasm to the new edition of Gold and Blue. The production of this book is one of the projects to which we can point with a feeling of pride. Over the years it has grown in size and in quality until it has become an asset to our school. Few people realize the amount of time and effort that is involved in turning out a yearbook of its quality. It is like the never ending process of education—one gets out of it in proportion to what he puts into it. Education includes many things. It is the development of mental power, personal talent, and personality; it is building stores of knowledge and developing a sense of cultural values; it is training as a wage earner; it is development of spiritual values. As one develops these many qualities, he becomes able to be of more service to others, and therein lies the true secret of happiness and contentment. I want to express my sincere thanks and appreciation to the yearbook staff on a job well done. Sincerely, A t John Cooley Superintendent JOHN H. COOLEY, SUPERINTENDENT —wv V GERALD MILLER.
