SENIOR CLASS HISTORY The Senior Class of 1956, started their grade school career on September 5, 1944. Their teacher was Miss Ada Jackson. For the benefit of the faculty and any other per- sons who wants to know, Donnie Bacher made more A’s than anyone else in the class. In the Second Grade our teacher was Mrs. Nan Haster. We had our first course in business then. You could buy anything at the second grade grocery store, if you had enough play money. In the Third Grade our teacher was Mrs. Marie Conrad. This was the year the girls started joining the Bluebirds. In the Fourth Grade Mrs. Worthington, the wife of a Minis- ter, was our teacher. Mrs. Hattie Sinclair was our Fifth Grade teacher and this year the girls joined the Camp Fire Girls. In the Sixth Grade Mrs. Cora Regnier was our teacher. In the Seventh Grade we experienced our first male teach- er, Ralph Shidler. The Eighth Grade was a big year — we all looked forward to graduating very much. And when the day came we were all so dressed up, we didn’t quite recognize each other. The Ninth Year was our first in high school and we had a brand new building to start in. When we got to our Sophomore year we were growing up fast. This year we got the water-gun craze and everybody became interested in Biology. Our Junior year we got our class rings. Some kids didn’t keep theirs long because the love-bug was beginning to bite. Our play, It’s A Great Life was a great success. Well, there we were, Seniors! The day came when we had our Senior pictures taken. Then for weeks we lived in anti- cipation ’till the day they came. The play, Honey in the Hive was presented to the public after tedious weeks of practice. Along in this part of the year we were ordering announcements and lining up speakers for Baccalaureate and Graduation. Then, CRATERVILLE OR BUST!” That was really the weekend, and we were a tired bunch of Sen- iors on Monday morning. We really felt old and distin- guished planning our graduation exercises, which went off grand and on the average, everything was happy although there were a few tears in the female section.
